I was diagnosed with BPD a few months ago and I h**e it. I know I need help but I am unable to afford it. I have contact a place just to see how much they cost.
BPD has wrecked my relationship which is why I h**e it. So now I'm alone except for my puddy tat,Tigger. He is my constant companion when I'm home. Which is most of the time.
I have yet to tell my family because I haven't been in the right frame of mind to ring mum. I have plans to ring her then something happens and I'm just not up to it. I know that I have to do it but then explaining the cause will be the hardest.
I know I have abandonment issues and I have even been to Heal For Life which was amazing. I went back last August for my second week and something else come to light. Seems there could be something else from my childhood that I have no recollection of.
I have no idea what is to become of me.

Hi Tiggersmum and welcome to the message board. The diagnosis can be a very hard thing to process, but have a look through some of the posts here. There are a lots of very knowledgeable people on the site, some of whom have made amazing progress towards overcoming this horrible disorder.
If you live in or near Melbourne, maybe try to get to one of the monthly meetings. We'd love to meet you.
Kind regards, Rose.

Thanks Rose, if I lived there I would certainly attend the meetings but I live on the Mid North Coast of NSW. I'm just hoping that the place I contacted won't cost to much. Actually anything would be to much but maybe there could be a way to do it.

Well, that's a long way to travel to get to a meeting I'll admit, LOL. I do hope you find the help you need to get over this thing, especially if you have plenty of years up your sleeve. At least you now know what the problem is and you can work on it. All the very best and keep us informed of how it's all going.
Rose.

Rose, I was 55 when my issues hit me. They caused us both pain..Plus there was her issues of anxiety and panic attacks. The thing that made me end it was that after all that time together she couldn't invite me into her home. I just couldn't take it any longer.

Hi again Tiggersmum. I'll answer your post in the "General Topics of Discussion" area as it's a members only area rather than this public area. I'll use the post heading of "The Older BPD."
