Not sure I can answer that because I've only known what I was doing for (as in being a chameleon) for a relatively short time. I've always been the chameleon, but didn't realise I was doing it. I was only diagnosed as having BPD late in 2013 and again by a different psych early last year after a lifetime dedicated to self destruction and misdiagnosis. I've had to take in so many different aspects of this disorder. I know I'm still very much the chameleon, but it's not on my highest list of priorities at present. I tend not to go anywhere or engage with people, so it's not such a big issue as it was years ago.

Fiozam, As long as the chameleonization (just made that word up I think) isn't specific changes in your personality that is being done to be accepted otherwise it is just a mask. The fitting in with others is fine as long as your beliefs and values don't change ~mjtacc~
